Sketching with Tam

Recently I signed up for a workshop with Willowing,
"FABULOUS FACES"
and I sketched this while watching the first video,
step-by-step.

I am so amazed at how wonderful it felt, to sketch
with a Derwent Graphic pencil (2B).
I've just got to invest in more pencils!

I am discovering something new about myself.
I enjoy sketching!

I had a creating block recently, and thought
maybe I would learn some new skills to
"re-invent" myself.

It occurred to me, that sometimes you don't
need a pattern or an idea to create something.
You simply just need to dip the paintbrush
into the paint, or place the pencil on the
tablet, and just let it be.

This is a wonderful revelation for me.
I'm sharing this photo, NOT because I think
it's something really good that I did, but
because it feels really good that I did it!

When the storm has passed...

There is something special about a new day
following a storm.

Last Tuesday,
after a long weekend of continuous snowing,
I woke to a blanket of snow;
a beautiful pristine view from my window.

I was headed to work, and ran
back inside for my camera.

The stillness and the beauty,
tugged at my heart.

Ever since I mounted this birdhouse
on an abandoned steel pole,
a family has resided in it; year-round.

I sometimes see a little curious head peeking out,
as I drive past, headed for work.
It warms my heart to see it providing shelter
for my little winged friends.

The colors of the sky and sun's rays
hitting these trees made me stop for a moment.
My photos don't capture the beauty very well,
but I think you get the idea.

This morning I am headed to a workshop
on distressing tags at a scrapbooking shop.
That should be fun!

I don't imagine I'll get much creating in
this weekend. I plan to spend time with
my BF and friends. Meanwhile, I'm waiting
for a shipment of supplies in the mail.

I recently signed up for the "Fabulous Faces"
online course with Willowing,
which begins this coming Monday.

for details)

I thoroughly enjoyed the new techniques I
learned with my Suzi Blu workshop on Petit Dolls,
and I couldn't resist signing up for this one.
I just can't get enough!

Stay tuned, as I hope to be creating soon.
I have so many ideas rolling around in my head,
I really need to let them escape soon!

Thanks for visiting.
